Sail
on turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea along ancient cities, romantic
ruins, beautiful coves and islands embraced by imposing coastal
mountains of ancient Anatolia. Between May and October we have gulets
(6 cabin yachts) departing every Saturday from Bodrum and Marmaris.
Departures are guaranteed for individuals. The trip includes all
meals. Please find below the itineraries and prices.
ITINERARIES
THE LYCIAN COAST : Departure from Marmaris
Day 1 Sat
Marmaris
Afternoon rendezvous and embarkation in the Marmaris harbor for dinner
and overnight aboard.
Day 2 Sun Marmaris, Dalyan, Caunos &
Ekincik
After our first breakfastm we start our dream journey Ekincik. Arrival
to Dalyan. where we visit the ancient city of Caunos, supposedly
founded by the son of Mietos. We'll pass through a natural canal
surrounded by Carian tombs carved on steep rocks that embrace the
emerald lagoons. The acropolis castle, the antique theatre and church
complex are all mementos of ancient greatness. We'll also visit a long
sandy beach, a natural nestling place of caretta-caretta
turtles. Possibility to swim. Visit the nearby mud baths at the end of
the lagoon. Small fee to enter the mud for a therapeutic dip. Your day
ends in Ekincik with a delicious dinner. Overnight at Ekincik.
Day 3 Mon Ekincik & Kizilkuyruk Koyu
Breakfast at Ekincik. Lunch at the small Kizilkuyruk Village with the
afternoon free to explore nearby Lycian ruins. Swim, snorkel or just
relax. Possibility for different water sports. Overnight at
Kizilkuyruk.
Day 4 Tue Kizilkuyruk & Tersane (Twelve
Islands)
Breakfast at Manastir. Cruise through scenic Fethiye Bay with various
sites of scattered Lycian ruins. Lunch at Tersane, an ancient boat
yard site. Swim, dive, fish, or relax. Overnight at Tersane.
Day 5 Wed Tersane & Fethiye (Telmessos)
Breakfast at Tersane. Lunch in Fethiye where ancient tombs carved in
the cliffs overlook the quaint port. Overnight in a quiet bay near
Fethiye. (4 day cruise participants disembark here.)
Day 6 Thu Gemiler Island & Oludeniz
Cruise to Oludeniz, (Dead Sea) a beautiful small lake of
mixed sea and lake water adjacent to the crystal sea. Lunch in Gemiler,
a site of Byzantine ruins. Swim, dive or relax. Overnight at Gemiler
Island.
Day 7 Fri Gocek Island & Bedirhan (Or
Sarsala)
Breakfast on the way to Gocek, an area of beautiful inlets,
turquoise waters and seaside ruins. Lunch at Gocek the small
fishing village of typical houses, local taverns and friendly
people. Possible afternoon wind surfing and relaxation. Overnight at
Bedirhan.
Day 8 Sat Marmaris
Breakfast on the way back to Marmaris. Disembarkation at
noon. Extensions available on request.
THE CARIAN COAST :
Departure from Bodrum
Day 1, Sat
BODRUM
Afternoon rendezvous and embarkation at the Bodrum harbor for
overnight aboard the yacht.
Day 2, Sun Bodrum & Knidos
Breakfast in Bodrum, and then sail the translucent deep
waters along the forested coast with lunch en route to the Datca
peninsula scene of a number of small ancient ruins including some
harbors. Overnight in a cove along the peninsula.
Day 3, Mon Amazon Creek
Breakfast in Mersincik. Cruise the coast to the quiet bay at Cati for
lunch. Windsurf, skin-dive, or simply relax. Overnight at nearby
Amazon Creek named for legendary female warriors.
Day 4, Tue Seven Islands
Breakfast in Cati, lunch at Seven Islands a favorite snorkeling site
due to the coral formations. Windsurf, skin-dive, fish, relax.
Barbecue on the beach. Overnight at Seven Islands.
Day 5, Wed Tuzla & English Harbor
Breakfast at Tuzla. Continue to Longoz and its tropical
setting. See Ballisu (Honey Waters) and overnight at secluded English
Harbor. Disembark at Sogut for 4 days cruise participants.
Day 6, Thu Oraklar
After cruising to the northern side of the gulf, we stop for lunch and
a swim at Akbuk, a small bay set at the foot of a huge mountain.
Continuing our journey in the afternoon, we arrive at our last stop
for the day at Cokertme Bay-another spectacular anchorage.
Day 7, Fri Bodrum stop
After a leisurly return to Bodrum, with swimming stops at Orak Island
and /or Yaliciftlik, both of which offer crystal clear waters, tonight
we enjoy a frewell dinner together at the overnight anchorage-Bitez or
Bodrum harbour.
Day 8, Sat Bodrum
Breakfast on the way to Bodrum. Depart the yacht at noontime
.
These itineraries are flexible, but passengers can expect to see the
sites listed. The sequence and environment of the cruise is a relaxed,
laid back, with mutual cooperation between the small number of
passengers and the crew.
